INTERN PROGRAM

Whitson Engineers encourages internship applications from students who have completed at least two years of a civil engineering or land surveying curriculum and/or have related experience. Familiarity with AutoCAD is desirable. Interns are considered temporary, full-time employees. They are classified as Engineering Technicians, Survey Technicians, or Engineering/Surveying Aides, depending upon their experience and proficiency. Because we recognize the value of interns’ contributions to the firm, compensation and benefits for interns are the same as for regular employees.

Our goal is to expose interns to a wide variety of projects. Interns are quickly assimilated into the project team, and are expected to maximize both learning and productivity. Specific assignments are commensurate with the intern's abilities. The firm's Principal and Project Managers are enthusiastic about sharing their knowledge and are committed to making the intern experience challenging and enjoyable. Some of our interns have continued to work for the firm via internet during the school year.
